The genital mutilation of infants is as barbarous a practice as any of the ridiculous forms of voluntary “torture” primitive tribes inflict on themselves as part of their rites of passage. It is none of anyone’s concern if an adult decides to skin off his foreskin for his own pleasure. But no child should go through such bodily modification without his or her consent! What if the poor child as an adult decides that he prefers to have the hood back over his penile glans?
Germany has done good. The Cologne Courts finally criminalises the practice of religious circumcision as a “serious and irreversible interference in the integrity of the human body.”
I fantasise the day when Singapore does the same to its cock-chopping communities. But of course, if puritanical Singapore still thinks that the personal sex lives of same-sex couples is a crime, decent human beings like us would have to rely on only wet dreams.
